How to Verify a Product Is Genuine
Batch codes, certificates of analysis and the manufacturer verification tools. What to check before you use anything.
Start with the batch code
Both Quanta and SerenQ print a batch identifier on the product. That code is the thread that connects the physical item in your hand to the testing record held by the manufacturer. A product with no batch code, or with a code that does not resolve, cannot be verified by any means - and that on its own is the most useful single signal available to a buyer.
Use the manufacturer verification tools
Both brands operate their own authenticity checkers, which take a batch or verification code and confirm whether it corresponds to a genuine unit. Read the certificate of analysis properly
A certificate of analysis reports what independent testing found. The two figures that matter are identity, confirming the substance is what the label says, and purity, expressed as a percentage. An HPLC trace should show one dominant peak; multiple significant peaks indicate contamination or degradation. A COA that is not tied to a specific batch number tells you nothing about the item you actually hold.
Check the presentation against the manufacturer's own
Counterfeits are usually identifiable on presentation before anything else: print quality, label alignment, cap colour, the finish on a crimp seal, the consistency of the lyophilised cake inside a vial. Comparing against the manufacturer's own product photography is quick and catches most of it.
Physical condition tells you about handling
A lyophilised peptide should be a clean, intact cake or powder. A cake that has collapsed, melted and resolidified, or turned yellow has been through a temperature excursion, which means degradation regardless of whether the product was genuine to begin with. Oils should be clear; crystallisation in the cold is normal and redissolves with gentle warming, but persistent cloudiness at room temperature is not.
Buy where the chain is short
Every additional hand between manufacturer and buyer is another point where substitution can occur. Buying from an official reseller with direct manufacturer relationships is what makes the batch code and the verification tool meaningful, because there is a documented chain behind them.
